Tech conference

On Wednesday, March 13, at 9:30 a.m., Union-Endicott High School’s Technology Department Tech conferencewelcomed participants from the New York State Technology and Engineering Educators Association (NYSTEEA) Conference for an exclusive tour. The conference, held in the Binghamton area on March 13 and 14, brought together educators and professionals from various disciplines to explore advancements in technology education.

During the visit, attendees toured the UEHS’s state-of-the-art technology wing, featuring the school’s cutting-edge flight simulator—the only one of its kind in the region. Designed and built by UEHS graduate Luke Pylypciw, the simulator provides an interactive look into aviation and its real-world technological applications. Visitors will also explored student-created STEAM projects in welding, metal sign fabrication, and carpentry, showcasing the hands-on learning experiences available at UEHS.UEHS Technology Department teachers Tom Palazzo, Corey Munn, and Mike Wichowski, each recognized as New York State Teachers of the Year in 2019, 2021, and 2023, respectively, coordinated the tours. As a recipient of the New York State Program of Excellence award, the UEHS Technology Department offers students robust academic opportunities, including Project Lead the Way courses and other specialized programs that prepare them for careers in technology and engineering.

This tour provided a unique opportunity for educators and industry professionals to see firsthand how UEHS integrates technology, innovation, and hands-on learning to inspire the next generation of problem-solvers and engineers.
