zofia art

This summer, sophomore Zofia Fronczek will be immersing herself in what she loves most—art! She was recently accepted, by early decision, into the highly regarded NYSSA Summer Art Program at SUNY Fredonia, an incredible opportunity for young artists to develop their skills in a professional studio environment.

The application process was rigorous, requiring Zofia to submit a portfolio of her work, a 250-word artist statement and undergo a faculty and staff review of her artwork. Her dedication and talent shone through, earning her a spot in this prestigious program!

For four weeks, Zofia will specialize in one 2D art form and one 3D art form, gaining hands-on zofia artexperience in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, figure work, and interdisciplinary arts. She’ll be learning directly from renowned exhibiting artists and educators, engaging in unique artistic experiences that go far beyond what can be explored in a typical school setting.

Beyond the studio, she’ll participate in live model drawing and painting, trips to scenic farms and lakes, and explore casting, direct carving, life-size clay modeling, and experimental printmaking techniques.

Congratulations, Zofia! We can’t wait to see how this experience shapes your artistic journey.
