Jarrett

Students at CFJ had the opportunity to meet a special visitor; New York Times bestselling author and illustrator Jarrett Krosoczka.

Jarrett has created numerous beloved books, including his graphic memoir Hey, Kiddo, which was a finalist for the National Book Award. His other works include Lunch Lady and Jedi Academy, as well as picture books like Punk Farm and Peanut Butter and Jelly Fish.

During his visit he talked with students about the writing process, how he illustrates his books, and the work it takes to become successful, and the different genres he writes in. He also spent time answering questions and drawing live on his iPad so students could see how he draws. Jarrett has garnered millions of views with his TED Talks and video tutorials.

In addition, the library had a small collection of his books and the Booster Club held a raffle for each grade level to win a signed copy of one of his books.

It was a fun learning experience for our students.
