As part of its annual holiday brunch, the League of Women Voters invited the UEHS Amnesty International Club to present their research on the impact of women in government. The students delivered an inspiring “Women in Government” presentation highlighting influential women who have held office at the local, state, national, and international levels.
The research project showcased how these elected women have shaped policy, broken barriers, and inspired future generations. The Amnesty Club members, in turn, found motivation in these stories, strengthening their aspirations for leadership within their school community. Many have taken on officer roles in UE clubs, fostering a culture of civic engagement and activism among their peers.
The UEHS Amnesty International Club is deeply committed to promoting equality—both within their school and throughout the local community. Their participation in this event reinforced their dedication to advocating for human rights and representation, echoing the values of the League of Women Voters.
By sharing their insights, the students honored the contributions of women in government and reaffirmed their commitment to leadership and advocacy, ensuring that the fight for equality continues across generations.
Thank you to these UHES future leaders: Melanie Scalcione, Maria DeNardis, Rihyana Powell, Madeline Housel, Grace Judge, Sneha Saha , Malia Yarde, and Annoula Lazaros.
