Tiger Ventures students in Claire Mills’ Italian class recently brought Italian flavors to life by making Focaccia Bread from scratch in the school’s food lab. This hands-on activity allowed students to apply classroom skills such as measuring ingredients, converting units, and carefully following recipe directions. They prepared their dough, personalized it with toppings and seasonings, and then baked their creations to perfection.
This wasn’t their first culinary adventure! Earlier in the year, students explored Italian cuisine by making homemade pizza dough. These cooking experiences give students a deeper understanding of Italian culture and a chance to practice practical skills in a fun, interactive way.
Looking ahead, the class will kick off the new year with another exciting project: making homemade pasta and meatballs. Buon appetite!
