70 seventh- and eighth-grade JFS students in Bryan Tran’s French classes had the incredible 
opportunity to experience French Night at a Syracuse Crunch hockey game, immersing themselves in French culture beyond the classroom. This annual event, hosted by the American Association of Teachers of French and the Syracuse Crunch, brings together French students from across New York State.
Eighth-grader Michael Castoro had a standout moment during the evening, winning a $50 gift card in a red light/green light competition on the ice during the first intermission! Reflecting on the experience, he shared, “Hockey has been one of my biggest passions since I was young, and I’ve been playing it for as long as I can remember. I’m so grateful to my teacher, Mr. Tran, for organizing this field trip where I can enjoy one of my favorite hobbies.”
Adding to the excitement, JFS students had the chance to meet Syracuse Crunch players Gabriel Fortier and Joel Teasdale–both from Québec–on the ice after the game.
The evening was filled with thrilling hockey action, concession treats, and lots of fun. Congratulations to all French students for demonstrating respect, responsibility, and utmost enthusiasm throughout the event! #TigerPride
