Fire safety was front and center at TJW as students received an exciting hands-on education from local emergency services! Members from the fire department, EMS, and other safety professionals came together to teach students valuable skills and fire safety tips. Using a “smoke house” simulation, students saw firsthand how quickly smoke can fill a room and learned how to safely find an exit. They got to test their firefighting skills by guiding a real fire hose, tour the inside of an ambulance, and watch a firefighter scale the fire ladder like a true pro. The team also shared life-saving tips on handling kitchen grease fires, testing door handles for heat before opening them, and what to do if trapped in a burning building. This annual event isn’t just about education—it’s a fun and collaborative effort to empower students to stay safe, both at home and at school!
