Kindergarten marks the beginning of a child's formal education and is often a child’s first step into a structured school setting. At U-E Kindergarten Jump Start prepares our younger Tiger Cubs for this exciting and new adventure.
Over three days, kindergarteners took the bus and spent half the day at their respective schools where they experienced what it would be like in school. They met their teachers, and their classmates, visited their classrooms, and walked around the building. In addition, children engage in activities like arts and crafts, storytelling, games, and basic academic exercises. These activities not only help develop social skills but also ease the anxiety some might feel about starting school. By familiarizing themselves with the school and classroom structure in advance, they become more confident and comfortable when the school year starts.
Kindergarten Jump Start helps our students feel prepared and excited for the first day of school on September 5.
