As Otsiningo Park prepares for Spiedie Fest, our Tiger Ventures helped signify this unique marinated meat with a historical marker.
Last year, students in Ryan Page’s geography elective class worked on developing a Spiedie Historical Marker project.
Working with the William G. Pomeroy Foundation in Syracuse, students conducted research, gathered news articles, and collected recipes. The information was assembled and submitted to the foundation, which approved the marker.
At a ceremony last week, the marker, donated by the foundation, was unveiled during a festival kick-off press conference. The marker will be permanently placed near the entrance of the park.
