Congratulations to GFJ teacher Meridith Jackson, the 2024 Lichstein Award recipient.
The Alan Lichstein Award is given to a current district employee who exhibits the qualities of character embodied in the career of Alan Lichstein, a teacher, and administrator who contributed thirty-seven years of distinguished service as an outstanding leader.
The award is given to a current employee who has been employed by the district for at least five years and exhibits many of the following qualities of character:
Fair and impartial, treats all with respect, dignity, and compassion.
Accessible to all, careful listener.
High ethical standards.
Lifelong learner, driven to master new ideas and help others to do the same.
Disciplined, dedicated hard worker, devoted to the core mission of educating students for the future.
Contributor to the greater community.
Meridith was recognized during the June BOE meeting with colleagues, friends, and family present.
