TJW student government put out a request for used or unused solar eclipse sunglasses. Little did they know that request would gain some momentum and hundreds of glasses started showing up at the school. Second-grade teacher Jennifer Savelli, who also serves as the student government adviser, said, "We sent out a request to our building staff and families and it just grew from there." The final tally was 2,446 glasses! They will be shipped to a company that will then send them on to children in Latin American countries for their viewing of the eclipse in August.
