Three UEHS students put their math knowledge to work as part of the Southern Tier Mathletes Schools State team.
UEHS math teacher and mathletes coach Aileen Zielewicz traveled with Isabella Torres, Jack Klein, and Colin He to the New York State Math League competition at Owego High School on April 13. These three students met up with the other top 12 students from area high schools to form the 15-member team that competed against other regions.
That state meet is held every spring, and teams of 15 compete against each other to solve math problems in algebra, geometry, and number theory.
