taste test

Students at TJW were part of a taste test for the Broome-Tioga BOCES Rock-on Café “New York Thursdays.”

Students were treated to a chopped cheese with NY beef sandwich, popular in New York City. During lunch, BOCES staff passed sandwiches out to students to try. Then students could place a sticker on a board indicating if they loved it, liked it, or did not prefer it. The sandwich went over very well with 92.89% of students voting that they "loved" or "liked" the dish.

New York Thursdays feature foods grown or raised in the state. The taste test was conducted with the Food and Health Network, a farm-to-school partner, and the recipe will be included in a statewide “NYS Farm-to-School” cookbook that Cornell Harvest NY and Brigaid are working on.
