From Endicott to Hollywood, U-E Class of 1998 graduate Eric Appel has earned his spot on the red carpet. He received an Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie – 2023, for “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story,” in his feature directorial debut.
Appel attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, majoring in computer animation. After moving to New York City, then Los Angeles, he began directing with credits including “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “The Office,” among others.
