A wonderful evening was spent by nearly 130 people at the UEHS Having Made a Difference Alumni Dinner recognizing UEHS graduates who made a significant impact in their respective professions and in the communities they live in.
UEHS students were a significant part of the entire event. They served as hosts and servers, provided music and entertainment, recited the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish and English, worked with Broome-Tioga BOCES food services to serve and provide a wonderful dinner, and wrote and gave speeches on the five honorees.
Anna Barmada, Class of 1968, is a retired U-E teacher who co-founded the U-E Italian Exchange program in 1983. She was introduced by junior Giada Circensi.
Robert Eckert (posthumous), Class of 1936, was an ensign in the US Navy during WWII. The Eckert Theater Endicott Performing Arts Center was named for Robert. Robert’s daughter accepted his award and was introduced by junior Isabella O’Brien.
Dr. Greg Faughnan, Class of 2010, is a primary care provider at St. Joseph’s Physicians Family Medicine. Serves as a board member for a nonprofit student-run organization of disaster relief and elderly assistance. He was introduced by senior Cade Tavares.
Jennifer Lesko, Class of 1987, is president and CEO of the Broome County Urban League. Recipient of the Notable Women in Human Services Award, nominated by NYS Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo. She was introduced by Grace Murphy.
Daniel Schofield, Class of 1972, is the current chairman of the Broome County Legislature and Village of Endicott Trustee. He was introduced by senior Drew Karedes.
