On the first day of school, students in Steve Tibensky’s chemistry class got right to work with a pre-engineering activity.
Working in pairs, students were asked to produce the highest free-standing structure made of spaghetti and marshmallows in 20 minutes! Measurements were taken in each class to see which team built the highest structure that stayed standing! It was a fun competition that not only served as a tool for learning but was a great way for students to get to know their classmates.
