playersplayersBaseball is a game of tradition, and this year, Union-Endicott Baseball added a meaningful new one. Varsity coaches Tim Harkness and Dave Machalek invited the newly selected modified teams to a special practice at the high school—one designed to welcome them into the U-E baseball family.

During the visit, coaches spoke to the modified student-athletes about what it truly means to be a U-E baseball player. They emphasized the pride and responsibility of wearing the U-E letters on their caps. More than just a playerssymbol, those letters stand for commitment, discipline, and hard work.

The coaching staff laid out the high standards expected of every player in the program, highlighting the work ethic needed to compete at the varsity level and beyond. Then came a moment that made it official: each modified player received their own U-E baseball hat—handed to them by a Varsity player—as a sign of welcome and unity. players

This new tradition bridges the gap between the teams, builds culture, and sets the tone for what it means to be part of something bigger.

Best of luck to all our baseball teams this season—Go Tigers!
