foreign language week

March 4-8 was National Foreign Language Week and JFS language teachers put together a week of language fun and learning.

Seventh and eighth-grade students in French, Italian, and Spanish classes kicked off each day broadcasting the Pledge of Allegiance in their practiced language. Each day was designated for a particular country and students wore colors from those countries. They practiced tongue twisters, listened to music, voted on songs they liked, made t-shirts, and had popular food and drinks from these countries such as croissants, hot cocoa, and lemonade.

The goal was to provide students with an immersion in the language they are learning while making it fun and engaging. Thank you, the language teachers, for bringing new experiences and culture to our students.
