UEHS students in Abigail Pedley’s English 10 class combined reading, writing, and art to create reimagined book covers.
Students were asked to choose a fiction novel to be completed over three weeks. Once read, students re-imagined their book covers including a summary, book review, and information about the author.
This was the culminating project for the independent reading unit, in which they also completed character analysis, and plot diagrams, looked for literary elements and techniques, and did some research on their author. Students enjoyed re-creating a book cover to include elements of the book, like symbolism, not already shown on its cover.
